The Chinese zodiac has roots extending back to the Han Dynasty (202 BCE – 220 CE), with some scholars suggesting even earlier origins. Within the 12-year zodiac cycle, the snake is the sixth animal and has long held symbolic significance in Chinese culture and mythology.

All 2025 1 oz Australian Silver Lunar Snake Coins available here are presented in acrylic capsules. Multiples are offered in sealed rolls of 20 coins or boxes of 100 coins, with each box containing five rolls. All coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and include a micro-engraved security mark on the reverse.

The obverse of the 2025 Australian Silver Lunar Snake features a bust of King Charles III, designed by Dan Thorne. This left-profile relief depicts the monarch without a crown, marking the first time a monarch other than Elizabeth II has appeared on coins in this series.

The reverse displays a coiled snake in a detailed natural setting. Mountains rise in the background, a river winds through the landscape, and the snake coils beneath overhanging branches and leaves, creating a dynamic and lifelike depiction.
