Gold bars exist in a wide variety of sizes and styles. Credit Suisse History
Credit Suisse is one of the world’s most popular and respected precious metals refineries. Pure gold bars by Credit Suisse are refined in Switzerland at Valcambi, and have been for decades. Beginning in 1967 and lasting through 1980, Credit Suisse owned an 80 percent stake in Valcambi. In 1980, Credit Suisse obtained complete ownership for the next 23 years. Then in 2003, Valcambi became a wholly-owned subsidiary of European Gold Refinery Holding. However, Credit Suisse pure gold bars continue to be refined by Valcambi today (2015). The Credit Suisse 2.5 gram pure gold bar is one of the more popular choices for investors buying gold bars at this size. The bar is comprised of 99.99% pure 24 Karat gold. As with all Credit Suisse gold bars, the bar’s gold purity is back and guaranteed by the Credit Suisse bank. This gold bar contains 0.08038 troy ounces of gold (2.5 grams). Its dimensions are 22 mm x 13 mm x 0.6 mm. the obverse (front) side of the 2.5 gram Credit Suisse gold bar shows the "CREDIT SUISSE" logo at the top. Underneath, the bar’s weight of "2.5g," and the bar’s purity of "FINE GOLD 999.9" are written. The reverse (back) side of the bar features a repeating diagonal pattern of the Credit Suisse logo.
