On April 19, 2012, the “2012 W Proof American Gold Eagles” will be launched. The prices of the coins will vary depending upon the amount of gold they are made of. The prices for each of the variants introduced would only be made available during the middle of next week. There will be four sizes sold separately in this series. This would include the 1 oz coins, ½ oz coins, ¼ oz and 1/10 oz. The mint will also be offering these four coins together in a set. These Gold Eagles would be packaged in transparent plastic holders and placed into a satin lined velvet presentation case. The mint authorities have gone on to explain that expedited shipping would be withdrawn because of the quarterly inventory proceedings. Therefore, buyers would not be able to place orders between April 16 and April 22. However, orders that are above $300 in value or involve the purchase of platinum or gold mint collectibles would be awarded a complementary upgrade, although, delays might still be experienced. Expedited shipping would be made available for orders that are place on/after April 23, 2012. The mint authorities have also apologized for the inconvenience.
