They are currently minted under face values under denominations of 25, 50, 100, 200 and 500 Yuan. It is minted in different ounce sizes which can be 1/2, 1/4, 1/10 and 1/20.

Design

The edges of this 99.9% fine gold coin are reeded. On the obverse side it reflects the ‘Temple of Heaven’ which was designed in 1982. On the reverse side, its design includes different illustrations of giant pandas which change every year.

Years of Minting

The first Chinese Panda gold bullion coin was minted in 1982 and every year henceforth new limited edition coins are minted.

Minted by

They are official legal tender coins which are issued by the Peoples’ Bank of China. They are minted in Shenyang and Shanghai.

Largest Mintage

In 2010, 300,000 one ounce Chinese panda gold coins were minted.

Smallest Mintage

In the first year of issuing, that is in 1982, the smallest number of 13,352 Chinese panda gold coins was minted.

2011 Chinese Panda

The latest Chinese Panda gold bullion was minted in 2011. This is the 29th design of this ever-so famous series of 0.999 gold coin minted in China. The design on the obverse size is the same with the image of the Temple of Heaven. However, on the reverse side, the illustration for 2011 is that of a parent panda with a baby panda.
