Where To Buy Gold Coins – Gold Fortune Goes Up For Auction

Blog Aug 6, 2013

When a Carson City Nevada recluse quietly passed away in his home on June of 29, 2012 he left a glittering surprise for the cleaning crew that was given the task of cleaning up four decades worth of living in the gentleman’s ranch style residence. It is unclear if the gentleman had acquired gold coins slowly over time or en mass or how extensive his knowledge of how to buy gold coins was.

What they discovered was a treasure trove of silver and gold coins in bullion and old U.S. rare gold coins. The amazed workers found enough boxes of precious coins to fill two wheelbarrows.

It was decided that the fortune would be auctioned off in seven lots. The first auction took place back in February of 2013 and was made up mostly of bullion and sold for $3.5 million. The balance, consisting of 2,600 coins will be auctioned on August 06, 2013 and will begin with a lot of silver coins. The subsequent lots are made up of $10 and $20 gold pieces.

The same five bidders that participated on the previous auction in February are expected to join in making offers on the remainder of the valuables at the courthouse in Carson City. Each of the potential bidders was given a detailed image of the front and back of each coin and a private time to examine the coins before the auction.

“These are the rated coins, the collector types,” remarked Alan Glover, Carson City clerk-recorder, who is the one in charge of overseeing Samaszko’s property, on Monday. “It’s a little more complicated on the pricing than it is on the bullion.” In referring to the five bidders, he predicted, “These guys are going to pay a lot of attention to these.”

The heir of this good fortune is the only surviving cousin who works as a substitute teacher. Lesson to the wise school kids out there, be nice to your substitute teachers.

While the bidders on this particular auction need a great amount of expertise and close examination to make sure they are getting the best coins, the only thing you need to know about how to buy gold coins is where to buy gold coins.
