THE DIGITAL REALITY: The Importance of Real Diversification by LYNETTE ZANG
As the public is being “nudged†online, the importance of having a truly diversified portfolio is growing. While Wall Street wants you to think of diversification in terms of stocks and bonds and central bankers want you to think you only need fiat currency (USD). But a truly diversified portfolio includes tangible assets and real global money, like physical gold and silver in your possession and OTS (outside the system). Here’s a great example of why this is more important today, than ever before.
Last year we discovered that a hack at Microsoft exposed 250 million customer records online. We were also informed of the SolarWinds hack that infiltrated 10 government agencies as well as numerous corporations, including Microsoft.
Well oops, they’ve done it again! On March 2, 2021, Microsoft revealed that their servers were hacked. So far 30,000 business customers have been hacked through Microsoft’s exchange server, with the number of victims continuing to grow.
Critically, these attacks are getting more and more sophisticated, harder to discover and stop. This latest Microsoft hack used automation and several experts believe that this “may mark a new, frightening era in cybersecurity, one that could overwhelm the limited resources of defenders.â€
Yet at the same time, governments around the world are pushing for digital currency and eliminating cash. But if everything is on line, how vulnerable are you to these attacks. And don’t think that just because you haven’t been informed that you information was hacked that all’s well, because disclosure is discretionary.
Also in the news is the latest Covid relief bill which will likely pass the house tomorrow. Gee, could that be why stocks are again making new highs? Or is it really because all this new money is destroying what little purchasing power is left in the dollar. I vote the latter.
Of course, central bankers do not want you to know this, so spot gold and silver’s visible price is pushed down even as demand for the physical explodes and availability becomes even more tight.  But a rising gold price indicates a failing fiat currency. If you truly understood that, you would make different choices, like I have, a position your wealth into the true safety of physical gold and silver.
