Buffalo Silver Rounds

Silver rounds allow investors to diversify their precious metal portfolios by adding fractional quantities of silver at a very affordable price. Silver rounds are most commonly minted in the 1 ounce denomination. Fractional rounds have gained popularity in recent years due to the increase in the price of silver. Fractional silver rounds are available in 1/10 oz., 1/4 oz., and 1/2 oz. versions. Silver rounds, unlike coins, are minted by private mints, and not by a government entity. Silver rounds are not official currency and do not carry a face value.

The Buffalo Silver rounds are produced by Florida based Highland Mint. This private mint has produced a replica of the classic American Buffalo coin series. The design of the American Indian Profile was originally featured on the 1913 "Buffalo Nickel," designed by James Earle Fraser.

The obverse design of these silver rounds pays homage to American's history and heritage, showcasing the profile of a Native American man. The obverse side is engraved with the word "Liberty."

The reverse side of the Buffalo Silver round features the iconic buffalo, which also depicts the United States natural heritage. The buffalo design is the portrayal of Black Diamond, an American Bison who lived in New York City's Central Park Zoo in the early 1900s. The top edge of the reverse side is engraved with the words "One Troy Ounce" and "999 Fine Silver" below the buffalo.

The 1/10 oz. Buffalo Silver round has a diameter of 19.2 mm and is 1.35 mm thick. It has a metal content of 0.1 troy ounces of .999 pure silver.

The 1/4 oz. Buffalo Silver round has a diameter of 26.57 mm and is 1.79 mm thick. It has a metal content of 0.25 troy ounces of .999 pure silver.

The 1/2 troy oz. Buffalo Silver round has a diameter of 32.6 mm and is 2.25 mm thick. It has a metal content of 0.5 troy ounces of .999 fine silver.

Investing in Silver Rounds

Silver rounds are a safe way to invest in silver. They are highly liquid and typically have lower premiums. They are also easy to trade and barter. Silver Rounds are privately minted and are an excellent choice for first time investors. Currently silver rounds are the least expensive way to invest in silver.
