Physical Gold – That Dog Can Hunt!
There is an old saying that goes back to times when people actually used their dogs to hunt, whether it was for sport or food or income or safety, and that saying is, “that dog can hunt!”. Today that old saying still gets used but in a different context. If you hear someone say “that dog can hunt!” today, chances are very slim that they are actually talking about a dog. They could be talking about physical gold.
The saying is now loosely applied to anything that actually works and works well or aggressively, just like a hunting dog. So since the saying can be applied to anything that does its job very well it can easily be said of physical gold that that dog can hunt!
In order to further illustrate my point I will attempt to capture a little sage but comedic advice from one of my favorite comedians John Caparulo. John has this joke where he’s talking to his friend and his friend says that he just got a new ferret. John says, “cool, let me see your ferret.” His friend replies, “I would but I don’t know where it is right now, it’s hiding, it likes to hide.” John thinks for a minute and then says with perfect deadpan timing, “Yeah, I have a ferret too, I’m just not out 200 bucks like you are.”
The analogy that I’m drawing here between physical gold which is a dog that can hunt and an investment that acts more like a ferret is actually quite a strong one, especially if you factor in things like currency devaluation, inflation and hyperinflation, and currency collapse. If you start adding in these factors you will quickly see that you want a dog that can hunt and not perhaps an insured and guaranteed banking product based on an backed by fiat currency.
Perhaps unfortunately most people are invested in ferrets, and few actually still have dogs that can hunt. If you have studied currencies or perhaps lived abroad somewhere where currency collapse or hyperinflation was the norm (Venezuela, Mexico, Greece, Zimbabwe, Iraq, and many other countries) then you know that the value of a paper currency is not guaranteed.
One should also say that the value of physical gold against a paper currency is not guaranteed either, but physical gold will still be physical wealth when the paper currency is worthless. And as the paper currency is able to purchase less and less, this is seen either as currency devaluation or price inflation, gold will appear to make gains in value against the paper currency, and this will appear like an investment increasing in value, or a dog that can hunt.
So let’s look at the dual role of physical gold held as a hedge against currency devaluations, currency fluctuations, inflation and hyperinflation, and currency collapse, and gold held as an investment option that is expected to increase in value over time. Physical gold is somewhat unique in the fact that gold not only trades as a commodity but it acts as a currency, and it does both of these amazing feats worldwide whereas many financial instruments do not have global value.
Because of gold’s unique dual role, physical gold is not only a dog that can hunt when it comes time to make a little profit in the markets, physical gold will also viciously defend your wealth if the dangers of hyperinflation or currency collapse start circling around the porch of your financial portfolio.
Physical Gold Is Tangible Wealth.
Because physical gold is tangible wealth and is not tied to any bank or government to declare it as value, the price value of physical gold will rise dramatically during hyperinflation or currency collapse. This results in a dog that can hunt acting much more like a pack of dogs staving off the wolf of financial ruin on your behalf.
And, just as there are many types of dogs that can hunt, and many types of dogs that can quite efficiently guard your porch, there are different types of physical gold that you can purchase from ITM Trading in order to properly balance the amount of ferret investments you might have, with some investments that have been proven century after century to have plenty of teeth and plenty of fight, like gold bullion coins and bars, silver bullion coins and bars, and rare American gold coins that have been graded by either PCGS or NGC.
In fact if you want to draw another quick analogy, an American rare gold coin in today’s market acts more like a dog that can hunt, because in addition to the coin being made of gold the coin is also rare and in an unusually keen condition known as a Mint State.
These are the coins that you see in the news setting auction records were single coin goes for millions of dollars. Those dogs can hunt.
Gold and silver bullion pieces, which are not rare, move inversely against the fiat currency they are valued in, and hence during a currency devaluation or currency collapse, these are the pieces of physical gold which will begin to rage and value and help protect your assets.
ITM Trading makes owning gold and silver easy. If you are interested in learning more about American rare gold coins, ITM Trading can send you an information kit, answer any of your questions, and ship American rare gold coins or gold bullion coins directly to your door.
