Owning Gold Protects You In Many Ways

Blog Apr 11, 2016

If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. Have you heard this old saying before? Have you said this old saying before? There is a certain wisdom in these words. Often times someone doing work for you or providing a service for you just doesn’t care as much as you do. Sometimes that person just does not know as much as you do.Worse yet, sometimes you get a little bit of both, an ignorant person who does not care, and this is awful. Gold protects you in many ways, ways you cannot even fathom, because things that you cannot fathom happen all the time. That is why E.T. cannot go home anymore, well, at least, he can’t go back to Porter Ranch.

How Owning Gold Protects You, And What That Has To Do With E.T.

Do you remember E.T? Do you remember Elliot and Gertie? I’m pretty sure you do. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial was a smash movie that had moviegoers lined up around the block, merchandising and little rubber E.T. figures were everywhere. This movie made Steven Spielberg and Drew Barrymore household names. E.T. was an American cultural phenomenon.

E.T., Gertie, And Elliot. “E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial” Was Set And Shot In-Part In Porter Ranch.

While you may remember the main characters in the movie, a not so main character was the California neighborhood where most of the movie story line took place and where the film crews shot a lot of the outdoor scenes. In particular, there were a couple of scenes where Elliot and his friends were chased around the neighborhood on Kuwahara BMX bikes by other neighborhood kids and by G-Men.

The rough mountain and  forest neighborhood seemed like the best place in the world for a BMX bike chase. Coincidentally, the sales of Kuwahara BMX bikes also spiked after the movie was released. Kids’ whose parent’s had disposable income started showing up riding Kuwahara bikes to the elementary school I attended. The kids I knew rode their Kuwahara BMX bikes around Mesa, Arizona. The kids in the movie rode their Kuwahara BMX bikes around the expensive neighborhood of Porter Ranch, California.

E.T. BMX Bike Chase

Now you have the connection between E.T. And this blog article: Porter Ranch. Porter Ranch has been in the news a lot lately (but not nearly as much as it should have been, in my opinion) because there has been a huge Methane gas leak going on there for months. People are being poisoned. They cannot live in their million dollar plus houses. The kids cannot attend school, much less chase each other around the neighborhood on Kuwahara bikes.

What does any of this have to do with gold? What about owning gold protects you from things such as Methane gas leaks? Why does E.T. Want to go back to Porter Ranch anyway? Confused?

Owning Gold Protects You; ET

Let me unconfuse you. E.T. doesn’t want to go back to Porter Ranch, at least not while it is a big Methane cloud, so let’s get that out of the way. Having gold in your safe won’t protect you from the Methane gas cloud either. But, owning gold protects you from companies and conglomerations that do not have your best interests, safety, prosperity, or health in mind. These companies and conglomerates are all around you. Sometimes they are even underneath you. Kinda like Southern California Gas Co.

Owning Gold Protects You Against Conglomerates.

Do you have utilities like water and electricity and natural gas? If you do, you are tied to conglomerations. Conglomerations really like profits, and they often cut corners and take chances in order to make more and bigger profits. And, in essence, you end paying these conglomerations to take chances with your assets and investments, and in extreme cases, even your life. Case in point: Southern California Gas Co.

See All Those Yellow Spikes? Those Are Above Normal Methane Gas Readings. Would You Want To Live There?

Underneath the upscale and expensive Porter Ranch area and surrounding Aliso Canyon, there used to be oil. A lot of oil. Once the oil was discovered, however, the oil was pumped out and sold, leaving behind a huge underground cavern. Perhaps you never thought about the geologic ramification of pumping oil out of the ground, but in essence, there is a void left behind that the liquid oil used to occupy. This is where Porter Ranch comes into the picture.

The company conglomeration that supplies natural gas to the entire Los Angeles area needs somewhere to store all the “natural gas” it refines, and they chose to store it in this huge underground void that used to be filled with heavy liquid organic oil. Southern California Gas Co. did not store their gas in big sealed tanks like you might expect, they just kept pumping natural gas straight into a big underground hole in the Earth. What could go wrong?

Porter Ranch Methane Gas Leak Time Lapse 12/10/15

A lot went wrong. A huge leak blew open in October of 2015. A leak that spewed primarily Methane gas imbued with that rotten egg smell the gas leak commercials always warn you about. Hundreds and thousands of other, smaller leaks are suspected.

Nosebleeds, headaches, nausea, vomiting, blurry vision, coughs, depression. All of these have been reported by area residents and property owners that have been forced out of their homes and neighborhoods. Southern California Gas Co. has offered and has been paying up to $9000 a month in temporary relocation costs to displaced families. This is going to get expensive, very expensive, for somebody anyway.

Owning Gold Protects You. And You Need Protecting.

So what if another 2008 stock market disaster comes around and decimates your 401k again? Owning gold protects you because gold usually rebounds far faster than the markets do.What if a greedy utility company ruins the value of your home and the entire neighborhood while it poisons you? Owning gold protects you by providing financial diversification and portability. What if meanwhile politicians make moves that are certain to devalue the purchasing power of your dollar even more? Owning gold protects with its ability to maintain purchasing power over time. Owning gold protects you.

A Methane Gas Leak Like The One In Porter Ranch Can Turn A Home With Equity Into A Home Under Water, And A Gas Cloud.

You knew the markets could decimate your savings. You knew that dollar devaluation could decimate your savings. You probably were not thinking about a utility company that you pay every month ruining your entire neighborhood and real estate holdings, but all of these things happen. Own gold as a hedge against risk and loss of all types.
